Yvonne Navarro (b. 1957) is an American author. She grew up and lived mostly in Chicago, Illinois, until 2002, when she finally realized her nearly two-decade-old dream of moving out of that frigid climate to Arizona, where she now lives with her husband, author Weston Ochse, and two huge Great Danes, Lily and The Gobin. Her writing career has included original novels and media tie-in projects (both original and adaptations), including AfterAge (1993), Deadrush, Final Impact, Red Shadows, That’s Not My Name, DeadTimes, Mirror Me, Species, Species II, Aliens: Music of the Spears (based on the graphic novel by Chet Williamson]), Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Willow Files (two volumes), Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Paleo, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Tempted Champions, Wicked Willow Books 1-3, Hellboy, Elektra and Ultraviolet. Also the author of around a hundred short stories and one reference book, Navarro has won the Bram Stoker Award, the CWIP Award for Excellence in Adult Fiction, and the IWPA’s Mate E. Palmer Communications Contest for adult novel, first and second place young adult novel, and the short story category (where she swept first, second and the third places). She has also won the NFPW Communications Contest, and the Rocky Mountain News “Unreal Worlds” Award for Best Horror Paperback.
