In Stargate SG-1, the X301 was the first attempt by the United States Air Force to create a fighter/interceptor craft by the Tau'ri of Earth. Created from parts salvaged by two Death Gliders, along with human technology, the X301 was supposed to be a huge advancement in human technology. However, it turned out to be a complete failure. The X301 ended up flying into space with Colonel Jack O'Neill and Teal'c aboard after a hidden program within the Death Glider activated, recalling the ship to a distant planet under the control of Apophis. This failure led to the X302 project, which created a completely human built fighter.
