World War II

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

World War II was a major conflict involving approximately 70 nations. The war ran roughly from 1939 to 1945.

This war (and its aftermath) has been a frequently-used setting for sci-fi works, from Captain America to Hellboy and beyond.

It was a time of significant technological improvements. The arms race between the Allies and the Axis powers led to the development of atomic weapons. Other sciences (communications, space exploration, computers) also saw significant advances.

The Nazis, in particular, continue to be a feature in sci fi.

Some sci-fi authors, screenwriters, and so on, also brought their World War II life experiences to their creative endeavours.
