Wonder Woman is a popular 1975 television series based on the DC Comics superheroine Wonder Woman. Lynda Carter starred in the title role as Diana Prince. The series debut on ABC in 1975 and moved to CBS for its second and third season. Previous attempts to bring Wonder Woman to television were made including a short test film titled Who's Afraid of Diana Prince? starring Ellie Wood Walker as Diana but was never developed. A TV movie based on the character starred Cathy Lee Crosby and aired in 1974. Following the 1974 debut of Cathy Lee Crosby's far less powerful Wonder Woman, a pilot was produced decidedly different from the movie and was initially titled The New Original Wonder Woman. Stephen Ralph Ross worked on the pilot's script and focused on keeping the story and characterization in line with the comics. A talent search led to Lynda Carter's casting in the role.

In the series' pilot, Amazon princess, Diana rescues WWII pilot, Major Steve Trevor. She disguises herself and enters a contest to chose who will return the Major to his home. She wins and delivers Trevor to Walter Reed Hospital and remains in the United States to aid the Allied forces and breaks up a ring of spies.
