Whitley Strieber (b. June 13, 1945, San Antonio, Texas) is an American author known for his horror fiction particularly, Wolfen and The Hunger both of which were turn into films in 1981 and 1983.
Strieber's books discussing his own abduction experiences popularized the topic with the general public. Communion, the first of these books, was a New York Times bestseller for months. The big-eyed alien with the almond-shaped head on the cover became the popular culture concept of aliens.
