What Lies Beneath is a 2000 horror mystery directed by Robert Zemeckis. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Claire Spencer, a retired cellist who has just sent her daughter off to college. Her husband, Norman (Harrison Ford), becomes increasingly concerned when Claire begins hearing voices and experiencing strange incidents in and around their lakeside Vermont home. Claire sees the face of a young woman reflected in the water and suspects their neighbors may be connected to what is happening to her. Claire's husband, Norman, encourages her to see a therapist and Claire reveals that she thinks she's being haunted by a ghost. He suggests she try to make contact and with a friend and a ouija board, she makes the effort and discovers a horrible secret.
