Watchers is a 1987 horror novel by Dean Koontz. The book was adapted for the big screen in 1988.

Synopsis

On the morning of his 36th birthday, Travis Cornell goes hunting and comes across a dog, Einstein, that will change his life. The dog, is a genetically enhanced creation of great intelligence and helps Travis flee a terrible enemy, a monstrous creation of science known as "The Hybrid" that has escaped from the same lab. Travis and Einstein also run into lonely Nora Devon and the three join forces to escape their pursuers.
