The center of Lord Dread's empire, Volcania acted as the launch point of operations for the New Order. Lurking in the center of the hulking conical lair, Lord Dread pushed forward his vision of machines conquering what remained of the human race.

Volcania was subject to attack and damage by the Icarus satellite. Had Soaron not put itself between the base and the falling mass from space, Volcania might have been obliterated. As it was, the base was saved, though it did sustain some damage as a result.

Volcania was rumored to have been located in the area of old Detroit, Michigan.
