Virginia Hey is an Australian actress and former model best known in the role of Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan in the TV Series Farscape. She was born in Coogee, New South Wales, Australia on June 19, 1959 (birth year unconfirmed). She spent much of her childhood in London and Australia and began her career as a fashion model in Australia and Europe. She studied fine arts at the Kogragh Fine Arts College in Sydney and completed three years before being discovered at a bus stop by a fashion editor for a leading fashion magazine.
Her break into the acting world came in the 1981 film Mad Max 2 in which she played a warrior woman. She has also appeared in several episodes of The Prisoner, and guest starred on Flipper, Roar, and Home and Away. She has also appeared in the feature films The Living Daylights , Signal One, and Game Room.
In 1999 she took on the role of Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan on Farscape. She left the series in 2001 due to health issues relating to the blue makeup she wore and her desire to regrow her hair and eyebrows after three years of shaving.
In addition to her acting, she is also a certified practitioner of natural therapies including Reiki. For twenty years, she taught health, nutrition, beauty and confidence throughout Australia. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has taught meditation workshops. She has also created a range of perfumed cosmetics called White Flower Lei that have become a celebrity favorite.
Hey is also a professional artist. When the cast of Farscape was asked to sketch their characters for an insert trading card in the Season Four series of cards, her sketch proved captivating and she was commissioned to draw portraits of the entire cast.
