Vertigo is a comic book label owned by DC Comics. Vertigo is known for its line of adult horror, fantasy, and science fiction comic books. It has been said that the Vertigo is to the world of comics what HBO original series are to TV. Some of the more popular and well-received Vertigo books, are Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, Sandman, Books of Magic, Y: The Last Man and, its current fantasy hit, Fables. As of 2007, many Vertigo series have been collected in trade paperback and others, like Hellblazer starring John Constantine, have inspired movies.
