Vernor Vinge

Vernor Vinge (b. October 2, 1944 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, U.S.) is Hugo Award-winning science fiction author and former professor of mathematics and computer science at San Diego State University. Vinge is best known for his novels A Fire Upon the Deep (1992), A Deepness in the Sky (1999) and Rainbows End.
