Paulakate is a designated second-string relief beta tester for SCIFIPEDIA.

She is Transylvanian on her father's side and descended from a long line of Scottish Border reivers on her mother's, and has been actively involved in science fiction and fantasy fandom as an artist, writer, and editor since the 1970s (interwoven with intermittent waves of gafiation).

She is an inactive member of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society ("death does not release you") and has been involved in fannish activity on the internet since 1991.
