I’m Candy Thursdae, hotshot editor and science fiction lover, here to smooth your way as we all pitch in on building the best science fiction resource the Web has ever seen.

The SCI FI Channel has been providing me with blue pencils, and a place to use them, ever since the inception of its flagship online magazine, Science Fiction Weekly. Back then, our slogan was “No science, no fiction, and not even weekly!” We bootstrapped ourselves from a scrappy start-up to making SCIFI.COM the go-to Web destination for science fiction fans, with a Hugo Award nomination for the entire site in 2002, and a Hugo Award win in 2005 for SciFiction. You’d better believe that fancy rocketship is prominently displayed in the general manager’s office.

One of the things I respect about genre fans is our way of making ourselves experts in whichever part of the field we love best. SCIFIPEDIA is the place to share what you know, and work with others who are equally excited about science fiction, fantasy, horror, gaming, the paranormal, movies and television, books and comics, and all the myriad facets of the speculative world. Jump in and get your feet wet! Add to someone’s article whenever you see a gap of information you could fill. Start an article with a few lines and watch others expand it into an epic.
