Underworld: Evolution is a movie sequel to Underworld. Len Wiseman directs and Kate Beckinsale and the previous film's cast reprised their roles. The film further explains the origin of vampires and werewolves and their centuries-long feud. Tony Curran stars as Marcus Corvinus, who as suggested in the previous film, has awakened with the singular goal of freeing his brother, a savage Lycan, from his prison where he has been kept from the world for centuries. The film was panned by critics but nevertheless did modestly well, grossing over $111 million worldwide.
Eight centuries ago,
Unknown to humanity, a blood feud raged
Between a ruling class of vampires
And a rebellious legion of werewolves
Known as lycans.
Legend tells that the war began
With two brothers.
The immortal sons of alexander corvinus:
Markus, bitten by bat
Became the blood leader of the vampires.
William, bitten by wolf,
Became the first and most powerful lycan.
