Tyrone Benskin

Seasoned Canadian actor, Tyrone Benskin has worked in film, television and theatre for over 20 years. In theatre he won critical praise and a Critic's Choice Award for best supporting actor for his performance in Neil Simon's The Gingerbread Lady. Tyrone's television credits include the movies The Wool Cap, cased on a story by Jackie Gleason and teleplay by William H. Macy; Deacons For Defense, starring Forest Whitaker; Redeemer with Matthew Modine and Obba Babatundé; Cagney & Lacey: The View Through The Looking Glass; the powerful drama The Boys of St. Vincent; and The Killing Yard, featuring Alan Alda and Morris Chestnut. His episodic credits include the drama series Live Through This; the Canadian prime time "soap" Riverdale; and guest appearances on Naked Josh, Radio Active, Big Wolf on Campus, Due South, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Forever Knight, and Ready Or Not. On the big screen, he performed in Jack Paradise, a musical starring Roy Dupuis; and the thrillers Aftermath and Full Disclosure, with Virginia Madsen. Tyrone sits on the national executive board of ACTRA, the Canadian actors' guild; and is on the board of directors for Montreal's Black Theatre Workshop.
