Transformers is a 2007 film directed by Michael Bay, produced by Steven Spielberg and written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and John Rogers. The film is based on the Transformers franchise and stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel. The film was a box office hit grossing over $700 million world wide.

Sequel

Following the successful release, a plan was set into motion for a sequel, Transformers 2 to be released in 2009. Director Michael Bay and Shia LaBeouf are expected to reprise their roles. The sequel's script is being written by Roberto Orci and Ehren Kruger and Scott Farrar) will again serve as the film's visual-effects supervisor.
