From the TV series Battlestar Galactica, the tomb of Athena was a mythical lost tomb written about in scripture 4000 years before the Cylon wars.
According to scripture, the tomb was constructed on Kobol, a world believed to be the birthplace of mankind. The tomb was a resting place for the bodies of the 12 tribe leaders of Kobol before the great exodus of the 12 tribes to the 12 colonies so long ago.
The Tomb was also believed to house an ancient map to Earth.
The tomb could only be opened using the artifact The arrow of Apollo which before it was recovered by Lt. Thrace a.k.a. Starbuck, was housed in Delphi museum in Delphi on Caprica.

The tomb of Athena can be seen at the end of season 1, episode Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part 2.
At the end of season 1 we found out that the tomb was indeed located on Kobol in the mountains to the west of the 'City of the Gods' and that the 'Arrow of Apollo' was a key to opening the tomb of Athena.
The ancient map was a starmap showing the 12 signs of the zodiac (the ancient symbols of the 12 colonies of Kobol) in the form of constellations as well as the Lagoon nebula designated by colonial telemetry as 'astral body M8'.
Now with 'a map and a direction' the colonials could follow the 'road' to Earth.
