Tom Savini (November 3, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - ) is an American special effects makeup designer, actor and director. Best known for his inventive “stalk ’n’ slash” deaths, his long collaboration with George A. Romero (Martin (1976), Dawn of the Dead (1978), Creepshow (1982), Day of the Dead (1985), Two Evil Eyes (1990), and others) led to him directing the 1990 color remake of Night of the Living Dead.
