Plot
SG-1 visits Cimmeria in hopes of finding allies and or weapons to fight the Goa'uld. Cimmeria is a planet declared off-limits to the goa'uld because no goa'uld or Jaffa who visits has ever returned. Immediately after SG-1 arrive on Cimmeria through the stargate, a beam of light envelops Teal'c and Jack O'Neill tries to push him out of the way. They are both transported to an underground cavern where they come across a hologram of the Norse god, Thor. The prerecorded message informs them that only the host can leave unharmed. When the goa'uld tires of his existence he must approach Thor's Hammer and be killed, freeing the host. They realize Teal'c will remain trapped as he cannot survive without his symbiote.
Carter and Daniel visit the village where they come across a woman, Kendra who was once host to a goa'uld. She taunted the goa'uld inside her until it visited Cimmeria and was forcibly removed from her body by a device known as Thor's Hammer. Though at first reluctant, she leads them on a long journey to the cavern to which Teal'c and Jack have been transported.
In the caverns, Teal'c and Jack encounter a creature known as Unas, possesed by a goa'uld. Teal'c's staff weapon has been disabled but Jack kills the creature using his automatic weapon but it soon regenerates. Teal'c and Jack approach the exit where the Hammer is located but they are followed by the creature. Teal'c battles the creature but finds the only way to kill it is to hold it inside the hammer, risking himself in the process. The Unas, unable to regenerate without it's symbiote dies.
Carter, Daniel, and Kendra arrive at the cavern. Daniel realizes that the hammer may be the key to freeing his wife Sha're and Skaara. Jack points out that in order for Teal'c to survive they must destroy the device. Jack gives Daniel Teal'c's staff weapon and he fires it at the hammer, destroying it and freeing Teal'c.
Before they leave, SG-1 gives Kendra a box made of a special metal. They hope she will give it to Thor if he returns so they can contact him.
