Thomas Jane (b. Thomas Elliott, February 22, 1969, Baltimore, Maryland) is an American actor. Jane is known for the variety of his performances which range from his Bollywood musical movie debut in Padamati Sandhya Ragam to his performance as vengeful comic book hero The Punisher in the 2004 movie of the same name. At 17, Jane was spotted by Indian producers looking for a fair-haired American to play the Romeo role in their Romeo and Juliet themed musical. Jane left school to film in Madras, India. Despite offers for more roles in Indian films, he instead moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting there.
With hard work and persistence, Jane eventually broke into local theater. He made his American film debut starring in I'll Love You Forever... Tonight and his genre debut in the 1992 film Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He followed up with the scifi horror Nemesis, and the panned Crow sequel, The Crow: City of Angels. Jane's other notable roles include Face/Off with John Travolta and Nicolas Cage, Boogie Nights with Mark Wahlberg, Deep Blue Sea, and Dreamcatcher.
In 2006, Jane guest starred on the series Medium which stars wife Patricia Arquette. In 2007, he starred in Stephen King's The Mist and in 2008 will follow up with The Mutant Chronicles, and The Dark Country.
