Thomas Canty

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Thomas Canty is an artist and book designer whose unique "New Romantic" style is heavily influenced by artists of the late nineteenth century, particularly the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and artists of the Art Nouveau movement.

Canty's early work included interior illustrations for the 1981 Starblaze edition of The Moon's Fire-Eating Daughter, John Myers Myers' sequel to his classic adventure Silverlock.

Tom Canty is best known for his lush, layered, color-over-pencil cover illustrations for fantasy titles such as Terri Windling's "Fairy Tale" series of novels and the annual volumes of The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror anthologies.

Canty is the winner of two World Fantasy Awards.
