The Vampire Lestat is a novel by Anne Rice, the second in The Vampire Chronicles novel series. It is preceded by Interview with the Vampire. The novel was first released in 1985, and chronicles the life of Lestat de Lioncourt from his childhood in France, to his transformation into a vampire and his awakening in the '80s to embrace the twentieth century.
