The Two Doctors

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

The Two Doctors is a three episode serial from season 22 of the long running series Doctor Who. Its first episode premiered in the UK on February 16th, 1985.

Synopsis

When The Doctor arrives on space station Camera, he finds that it has been attacked and is now apparently deserted. Among the wreckage, however, he finds his former traveling companion, Jamie McCrimmon. Frantically, Jamie informs the Doctor that his own second incarnation has been kidnapped by hostile forces. Can the Doctor rescue his past self before his own present is destroyed?

Trivia

It is uncertain when in the second Doctor's timeline this story actually occurs. The second Doctor mentions that he has temporarily left Victoria behind, which would place these events somewhere in (or shortly before) the events of season 5. However, the Doctor and Jamie also state that they are on an errand for the Time Lords. Since the Doctor was a renegade, fleeing from the Time Lords for the program's first six seasons, it would seem to be impossible that he worked for them at any time during this period. Additionally, since the Time Lords forced the Doctor to regenerate into his third incarnation at the end of season 6, it also cannot have occurred after that time period. This continuity gaffe has led some fans to theorize that the Time Lords forced the Doctor to act as an errand boy for some period after season 6 prior to actually carrying out the Doctor's forced regeneration. This is commonly referred to as the Season 6b Theory.
