The Time Traveler's Wife is a best selling novel by Audrey Niffenegger. The Novel tells the story of Henry DeTamble, a man with a rare genetic disorder that causes him to travel through time. His wife, Clare Abshire is an artist who must deal with his disappearances.

Plot

Claire first meets a naked Henry on the meadows near her home as a young child. Over the years, Henry would visit her numerous times and she would fall in love with the mysterious traveler who holds so much information back. Claire knows that Henry will be her husband one day and his presence in her life helps form the woman she becomes.

Henry however, meets Claire for the first time in his early twenties. A time traveler since his childhood, he has already suffered a lot, including the loss of his mother and the alienation of his father. Henry is a bit stunned and overwhelmed when Claire seems to know so much more about him and who he will become than he knows about himself.

The two share a life together, often interrupted by Henry's numerous disappearances, which take a toll on him.Their relationship remains strong through Claire's numerous miscarriages, as all her unborn children inherit Henry's abilities. Among Henry's greatest fears include time jumps during winter when he must suffer freezing temperatures. naked, and alone. His worst fears, unfortunately, become all to real, and he has difficulty dealing with the consequences. But still there is hope, when Henry finds a doctor who may be able to help him.
