The Sandman is a comic book series from Neil Gaiman published by Vertigo. The series is a chronicle of the adventures of Dream of The Endless, also known as Morpheus. Morpheus is the ruler of the world of dreams. The comic was the first to win the World Fantasy Award and also made the New York Times Bestseller list. The series was initially published monthly in 32 page comics. They were later collected in ten paperback collections.

Premise

Dream is captured by an occult group in 1916 and held prisoner until 1988 when he escapes. The series deals with the consequences of his imprisonment.
