Mad Max 2 also known as The Road Warrior is a 1982 sequel to the 1979 film Mad Max. Mel Gibson reprises his role as 'Mad' Max Rockatansky, a drifter who agrees to help a small oil refining community in the Australian wasteland survive against a group of bandits.

The movie, which featured a lengthy and memorable car chase, was much more successful in the United States than its predecessor, which used a future Australian slang that many Americans found difficult to follow.
