The Nox are a fictional alien race in the series Stargate SG-1. They first appeared in the Season 1 episode "The Nox." Although at first glance the Nox appear to be primitive forest-dwellers, they are actually one of the most technologically advanced races in the Stargate universe. The Nox are one of the oldest known races in the Milky Way galaxy. They were once members of an alliance with The Asgard, The Ancients, and The Furlings. They are long-lived and seem to live in accordance with nature, but little is known about their history or culture. They live in a hidden flying city that bears some similarities to the ancient, possibly mythological, Earth city of Atlantis.

They are best known for their patience, wisdom, and pacifism. The Nox do not fight battles, but avoid them through trickery and illusion. They have mysterious powers of healing and illusory powers that appear magical.

In the Stargate SG-1 episode "Pretense," the Nox Lya serves as an unbiased judge in a dispute between the Goa'uld Klorel and the Abydonian Skaara, whose body had been possessed by Klorel.
