The Mummy is a 1932 horror film directed by Karl Freund and written by Nina Wilcox Putnam and Richard Schayer. The film starred Boris Karloff as the Egyptian Prince Im-Ho-Tep.
Plot
A 1921 expedition accidentally reads from the Scroll of Thoth and revives the mummy of Im-Ho-Tep who was buried alive for sacrilege. Using the name Ardath Bey, he seeks out the reincarnation of his long lost love Ankh-es-en-amon. A 1999 remake starring Brendan Fraser followed a similar plot.
