The Matrix Reloaded is the 2003 sequel to the hit film The Matrix. Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving and Laurence Fishburne returned in their roles as Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus. Joining the cast were Harold Perrineau, Jada Pinkett Smith and Monica Belucci. Like its predecessor, Reloaded featured dramatic action sequences; most notably a freeway vehicle chase that required the building of a section of freeway for filming. While reviews for the film were mainly positive, some critics believed the Reloaded wasn't quite on the same level as The Matrix. The film outgrossed the original earning over $738 Million worldwide. Within months of the debut of Reloaded, the third and final film in the trilogy and the completion of the story premiered, The Matrix Revolutions.

Plot

The battle against the machines continues and Neo's role in the fight continues to be vital. While Zion hovers on the edge of destruction by the machines, Neo must search for the keymaker who will lead him to The Source and may be able to help him prevent the destruction of the last of humanity. All the while he is plagued by a prophetic dream of Trinity's death.
