The Martian Chronicles is a 1980 miniseries based on the Ray Bradbury novel, The Martian Chronicles. The movie begins in the year 1999 when a manned probe sent to Mars results in the murders of two astronauts by a Martian. Two subsequent expeditions meet with equally devastating results. Nevertheless, Earth colonists attempt to settle on the planet after nuclear war makes Earth uninhabitable and most of the Martian population has been killed by chicken pox.
