'The Librarian: Quest for the Spear is a 2004 TNT TV movie directed by Peter Winther and starring Noah Wyle.

Wyle plays the title librarian, Flynn Carsen, the ultimate academic with 22 degrees. Flynn is kicked out of his academic cocoon to gain real life experience, and, his mother hopes, a wife and a job. Flynn receives and invitation for an interview Metropolitan Public Library and lands the job. But rather than the traditional librarian duties, he is tasked with protecting legendary and often magical items in a secret area of the library. He not only watches over the items but finds himself on world-traveling adventure, tracking down one of the three parts of the Spear of Destiny which has been stolen. Flynn must find all three parts before it falls into the wrong hands, giving its possessor the power to rule the world.
