The Keys of Marinus was a six-episode adventure from season 1 of the long running British series Doctor Who. It starred William Hartnell as the Doctor, Carole Ann Ford as Susan and Jaqueline Hill as Barbara Wright. Its first episode premiered in the UK on April 11, 1964.

Synopsis

The story begins on the planet of Marinus, specifically on an island of glass in the mist of a sea of acid. The Keeper of The Conscience of Marinus, Arbitan, dispersed four the five key microcircuts throughout the planet. And now, he needs those circuits...

Trivia

This is one of only two Doctor Who stories written by Terry Nation that did NOT feature his maniacal creations, the Daleks. The other such story was season 13's The Android Invasion.
