The Invasion is a 2007 movie loosely based on the Jack Finney novel The Body Snatchers. Oliver Hirschbiegel directed the films original cut but when it proved unsatisfactory for Warner Brothers, producer Joel Silver requested the Wachowski brothers reshoot the ending. However, the entire film wound up being rewritten and V for Vendetta director James McTeigue took over the production while the Wachowskis focused on Speed Racer.

Nicole Kidman stars as Washington psychiatrist, Carol, who discovers a disease of extraterrestrial origin. Her son also becomes infected and she must work with a colleague to stop the plague from taking over the world
