The Incredible Shrinking Man is a 2008 adaptation of the Richard Matheson novel The Shrinking Man. The novel was previously adapted in 1957. In the 1957 film, Scott Carey is accidentally sprayed with a substance that causes him to slowly shrink.

Brett Ratner is in negotiations to direct Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment's remake. Other directors considered for the project include Pete Segal and Keenen Ivory Wayans. A script was written by Mark Burton, Billy Frolick, and Fred Wolf. Another draft was turned in by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. The movie is produced by Brian Grazer and is expected to star Eddie Murphy.
