The Ghoul is a 1933 horror film starring notable genre actors Boris Karloff and Cedric Hardwicke. Karloff plays professor Morlant, a fanatic Egyptologist with great faith in Egyptian myths. Morlant is sold a jewel stolen from a tomb and sought after by Aga Ben Dragore (Harold Huth). Morlant insists that following his imminent death from a disfiguring disease, the jewel be bound to his hand, with dire consequences if his wishes aren't carried out. Following his death, he is buried in an Egyptian-style tomb on his estate. A thief absconds with the jewel and Morlant rises from the dead during the next full moon seeking revenge but he is not certain who has stolen the jewel.
