The Face of Evil is a story from the 14th season of long-running program Doctor Who. It was first broadcast in Britain as a four episode serial starting on January 1, 1977.

Synopsis

The TARDIS materializes on an isolated jungle planet in the far future. Unfortunately, the planet's primitive inhabitants seem to think the Doctor resembles their god of evil and quickly decide the universe would be better off without such an evil being. Nevertheless, the Doctor is quickly befriended by recent tribal outcast Leela. Why has the tribe confused him with their legends of "The Evil One?" What is the terrible secret behind their belief in a captive god and the "accursed" rival tribe known as the Tesh.
