Plot

An actress, Chris MacNeill, visiting Washington, D.C. with her daughter begins to notice her daughter's unusual behavior. A priest, Father Damian Karas, at nearby Georgetown University, begins to doubt his faith. When Chris' daughter's symptoms become worse and include levitation and changes in her appearance, she calls on Karas who also happens to be a psychologist. He becomes convinced that she is possessed and he, in turn, calls a colleague experienced in exorcism, Father Lancester Merrin. Father Merrin has battled evil before and the two priests work together to rid Teresa of the demons possessing her before they destroy her.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
