The Dead Zone is a 1983 film directed by David Cronenberg and based on the Stephen King novel The Dead Zone. Christopher Walken starred as Johnny Smith, a man who awakens from a coma and discovers he has developed psychic abilities. Brooke Adams took on the role of Sarah Bracknell Johnny's fiancee with Tom Skerrit in the role of Sheriff Bannerman and Martin Sheen as Greg Stillson. The characters from the novel and the film later appeared in television series also titled The Dead Zone.
