The Daleks is the name by which the second serial of the long-running series Doctor Who is now known. The original title of this seven episode serial was "The Mutants." However, since there is also a serial from season 9 by that title, the BBC now simply refers to the season 1 story as "The Daleks." Its first episode premiered in the UK on the 21st of December, 1963.

Synopsis

The TARDIS lands on Skaro, a planet that had been devastated by a nuclear conflict generations before. Its crew soon encounters a tribe known as the Thals, who claim to be the descendants of the war's survivors. But, the Doctor is more interested in an apparently abandoned city that they have seen in the distance - a city that belonged to the Thals opponents in the great war, a race known as the Daleks.
