The Core is a 2003 disaster film from director Jon Amiel. The film stars Aaron Eckhart and Oscar winner, Hillary Swank. Despite a good cast and a big budget, the film was not a success.

Plot

When the Earth's core suddenly and inexplicably stops rotating, the planet's electromagnetic field begins to collapse. A series of disastrous events ensue. A team of scientists is assembled to solve the problem and together they create a ship designed to transport a bomb to the Earth's core that should get the core spinning again.
