The Company of Wolves is a 1984 film based on a short story by Angela Carter, known for her brooding and erotic fairy tales for adults.
This atmospheric and sexually charged take on Little Red Riding Hood with a hefty dose of werewolves, starring Angela Lansbury, David Warner, and a young Stephen Rea, was adapted and directed by Neil Jordan, who would go on to helm In Dreams (1999) and the big-screen adaptation of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire (1994).
Another of Carter's short stories, "The Magic Toyshop," was adapted as a (1987) film of the same name directed by Dennis Wheatley.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
