On the series Heroes, the Company is a mysterious organization founded in part by Adam Monroe to track and learn more about an evolutionary change in the human population which caused certain individuals to develop unusual abilities such as pyrokinesis, telepathy and flight among others. Many of the company's founders had abilities of their own.

History

The company often fronts itself as the Primatech Paper company and has offices in Hartsdale, New York and Odessa, Texas as well as facilities in Alaska. It has been in operation since at least the 1970s. Its most prominent founding members include lawyer and Vietnam veteran Arthur Petrelli and wife Angela, casino owner, Daniel Linderman and Yamagato CEO, Kaito Nakamura.

Over the years, The company has tracked down several gifted individuals and implanted them with a radioactive marker allowing them to be tracked. They believed some of these individuals could prove dangerous and tasked themselves with finding them and finding a way to neutralize them, test the extent of their abilities, and in some cases, put them to work to further the company's goals.

Notable Activities & Developments

In their goal of neutralizing dangerous individuals, they experimented with a virus named after its first known victim, Shanti Suresh. The Shanti virus affected only individuals with unusual abilities, taking their abilities before killing them as it did Shanti. The company sought to manipulate the virus in order to create a strain that would remove an individual's special talents permanently. In the process they created a highly infectious strain that could cross into the general population and create a global pandemic.

Adam Monroe, one of the company's leaders developed a belief that humanity needed to be saved from its own problems and to do so, in 1977, he tried to release a deadly strain of the Shanti virus into the population. One of the company's founding members and, biologist Victoria Pratt ended her work with the virus after the incident, believing someone within the company had helped Adam. She thought the virus should be destroyed but Kaito Nakamura had it locked away in Odessa, Texas in keeping withe the wishes of the other memories.

Adam was locked away for over thirty years but the company continued to experiment with various strains and track individuals. Adam's actions and other actions of the company caused several of the original members to become divided. Several abandoned the company, Several have died or been murdered.

One of the few remaining original members, Bob Bishop is currently the company's leader as well as it's financial backer. With his ability to transmute less valuable metals into gold, the company has an unlimited source of funding. Without him however, the company will likely fall apart having lost most of its founders (some murdered by Adam) and its resources.

Tracking methods

The Company's first tracking method involved capturing their target individuals using drugs, tasers or other methods to bring them into a company facility where they do a basic study and apply pneumatic injection which leaves two black lines on the neck. The pneumatic injection injects a radioisotope which is then used to track them via satellite. Following his defection from the company, Noah Bennet tasked Hana Gitelman with destroying the satellite, which in turn killed her physical body.

Their second system, the company used a Walker System, referring to Molly Walker, whose remote viewing ability allowed her to locate any single individual. Molly lost his ability when she became infected with the Shanti virus. She was cured by Mohinder Suresh, and has not been seen doing more work for the Company.

Noah and Claire Bennet

In 1992, Noah Bennet and partner, Claude rescued a baby girl from the burning apartment of a pyrokinetic woman they were tracking. Kaito Nakamura turned over the child to Noah to be raised as his adopted daughter with the assignment to turn her over to the company once she manifested her abilities.

Bennet became attached to Claire and he hid her ability to regenerate from the company knowing that their torturous experiments could turn her into a sociopath, much like Elle Bishop. Claire also had protectors in her biological grandparents, Angela and Arthur Petrelli. The company eventually discovered Claire had manifested abilities but Noah proved he'd do anything to protect his daughter.

Linderman's Plot

In 2006, likely guided by Isaac Mendez' paintings, Daniel Linderman began plotting around the partial destruction of New York City. Integral to his plans were Nathan Petrelli, who he intended to elevate to President of the United States following the city's destruction, and his brother Peter, who Mendez' paintings revealed would be central to the city's destruction.

Linderman, a disciple of Adam Monroe, thought the city's destruction would cause the people of New York and the United States as a whole to stand behind Nathan. Angela Petrelli participated in his plot and attempted to convince her son to play his part and not interfere with events as they were to occur.

To further his goal, Linderman had Candice Wilmer to impersonate Micah Sanders' mother and brought him to New York where he used Micah's abilities to manipulate voting machines causing Nathan to win the congressional elections by a landslide. Linderman also plotted to get Niki Sanders and husband D. L. Hawkins together, ensuring the birth of their son.

Linderman's plot was opposed by Kaito Nakamura and Charles Deveuax and Peter Petrelli was determined to change the future. His passioned pleas to his brother, eventually convinced Nathan to act. Nathan ultimately saved the city by flying Peter high above the city where he exploded without harming anyone else. Nathan resigned from office.

Peter and Adam

In 2007, Peter Petrelli turned himself into the company hoping to end the abilities that caused so many problems in his life. The company agreed to give him a drug they developed that suppressed his abilities. He was eventually convinced by cell neighbor, Adam Monroe that he was not free to leave as he assumed. Peter broke out of the Hartsdale facility with Adam. The two later became separated. In that time, Adam began murdering company founders, leaving behind pictures of them with a helix symbol drawn on it. He shoved Kaito Nakamura off the top of the Deveaux building. He sent Maury Parkman after Angela Petrelli, who took credit for Kaito's murder, and Bob Bishop. Both survived Maury's attempts thanks to to the intervention of Matt Parkman. After reuniting with Peter, Adam murdered Victoria Parkman, pretending to protect Peter from her. Victoria attempted to warn Peter that Adam has no intention of destroying the deadly Shanti virus Peter learned was responsible for the deaths of billions in the near future. However, Peter continued working with Adam to infiltrate the Company's Odessa facility where the virus was stored.

Suzanne Ammaw (deceased)

Bob Bishop – Robert Bishop is the current leader of the company. His ability to transmute metal allows him create an unlimited amounts of gold for company use. Deveaux is the father of Elle Bishop

Charles Deveaux – (deceased) The Deveaux building is named after Charles whose ability is unknown. Deveaux is the father of Simone Deveaux

Daniel Linderman (deceased) – Daniel Linderman is a Vietnam war veteran with the ability to heal. One of Adam's disciples, he adopted Adam's belief that major disasters that kill millions was a viable means of changing the world for the better.

Carlos Mendez (deceased)

Adam Monroe – Once known as Takezo Kensei, Adam is a British man able to regenerate from any wound. Seemingly immortal, Adam has been around for 400 years and it is he who brought the founding members together.

Kaito Nakamura (deceased) – The head of Yamagato Industries, a large Japanese company, Kaito Nakamura was the father of Hiro Nakamura. Kaito gave Noah Bennet a baby, Claire, to raise.

Maury Parkman – Maury is the father of Matt Parkman and one of Adam's associates. Maury passed on his gift of telepathy and associated talents of mind control and dream manipulation to his son.

Angela Petrelli – Angela is the mother of Peter and Nathan and the wife of Arthur Petrelli. Angela worked with Linderman but plotted with The Haitian to protect her granddaughter Claire from the company.

Arthur Petrelli (deceased) – Husband of Angela Petrelli, Arthur served alongside Daniel Linderman during the Veitnam war where he learned of Linderman's healing abilities. Petrelli committed suicide after becoming disillusioned with the Company and its goals.

Victoria Pratt (deceased) – A biologist working with the Company, Victoria worked on mutating the Shanti virus. After developing deadly virulent strain 138, she abandoned her work and went into hiding. She had a friendship with Angela Petrelli who promised never to reveal her location. Angela was killed by Adam Monroe.

Employees

• Noah Bennet – Bennet has worked with the Company since at least the early 90s. He was mentored by Ivan Spector and later had partners in Claude R., The Haitian, Eden McCain and Candice Wilmer. He has also worked with Isaac Mendez and Hana Gitelman

• Elle Bishop – Daughter of Bob Bishop, Elle has the ability to direct electricity. Raised within the company, she has become a sociopath and company executioner.

• Donna Dunlap – Captured by the company for her telescopic vision, Donna's memory was erased and she was trained as an agent for the company. Donna's death was predicted by Isaac Mendez' paintings.

• Hana Gitelman – Hana was an Israeli agent recruited under the belief she was working for the CIA. Hana did not manifest her ability of electronic data transception until she had been tested and trained at the company's Alaska facility. She eventually abandoned the company and began working on her own to bring it down.

• The Haitian – One of the company's most mysterious employees. The Haitian is nameless and many believed he was unable to speak. The Company uses his ability erase memories and suppress abilities to help bag and tag others.

• Haram – Once Claude R.'s partner, Haram retired after years of bagging and tagging.

• Hank and Lisa – These individuals were tasked by Noah Bennet with pretending to be Claire's biological parents. Hank is a doctor who performed tests on Sylar before he was murdered by him.

• Maarten – Pyrokinetic individual once partnered with Ivan Spector.

• Isaac Mendez – A clairvoyant painter, Noah Bennet recruited Noah to paint a scene he hoped would save his daughter's life. Noah and Eden McCain helped Isaac kick his drug habit. Isaac's paintings have all been bought by the company.

• Eden McCain – Eden had vocal persuasive abilities and was recruited by the company. She was assigned to watch Mohinder Suresh and learn about his father's accomplishments in finding individuals with abilities. She killed herself rather than allow Sylar to take her ability.

• Claude R. – The invisible man, Claude once worked for the company, partnered with Bennet. The Company came to suspect he was helping individuals he was to track and ordered Bennet to kill him. The incident rendered Claude permanently invisible.

• Niki Sanders – Niki worked for Linderman under her other personality, Jessica before turning herself in at the company's Hartsdale facility to get help with her split personality. She was assigned to work with Mohinder Suresh.

• Ivan Spector – Once Bennet's mentor he was partnered with Maarten. Ivan was murdered by Bennet at his home in Ukraine.

• Mohinder Suresh – Noah Bennet attempted to recruit Suresh but he initially refused. He later helped them cure the Shanti virus in Molly Walker. Hewas sought out later by Bob and he attempted to infiltrate the company in partnership with Bennet and Matt Parkman. He became convinced he was working for the wrong side and sided with the company.

• Thompson – Thompson worked as Bennet's superior and assigned Claude to work with him. After learning about Claire's abilities he ordered her brought it. Thompson partnered with Candice Wilmer to investigate Bennet's activities. He was killed in New York at Kirby Plaza by Bennet.

• Candice Wilmer – Gifted with the ability to create convincing illusions, Candice has been seen in the employ of the company and Linderman. She was killed by Sylar.

Facilities & Associated Organizations

Primatech Paper

Located in Odessa, Texas, it's paper manufacturing is merely a front for a major company facility. The main building houses warehouses and factories but three floors down, are the Companies facilities which houses labs, holding cells and other rooms. Many individuals kidnapped by the company are transported to this facility where they are tested and implanted with devices before their memories are erased by the Haitian.

Primatech Research

Located in Hartsdale, New York the facility has several labs. Strains of the Shanti virus were likely developed at this facility and stored there before being moved to a more secure location in Odessa. The facility was home to Adam Monroe for thirty years, imprisoned for his attempts to unleash a deadly virus. It is now the prison for Maury Parkman.

Other Facilities

• Alaska Facility – This facility is seen in the online comics. Hana Gitelman was brought to this facility to be tested and trained in the use of her abilities.

• Kirby Plaza, New York City – The Kirby building in Kirby plaza is located in Manhattan and houses labs and offices. Molly Walker was treated at this facility.

• Deveaux Building, New York City – The Deveaux building, was owned by Charles Deveaux and is a major landmark in the Heroes Universe. Several important events occurred atop the building including Claire being handed over to Noah Bennet, Kaito Nakamura's murder. The building survived a future destruction of New York city.

• Linderman Group, Las Vegas – The Linderman Group is an umbrella corporation once owned by Daniel Linderman. Among his holdings were the Corinthian and Montecito Casinos. The Corinthian was home to the Linderman archive which include the sword of Takezo Kensei and paintings by Isaac Mendez. The Corinthian has since been demolished, possibly to cover records of Linderman's illegal activities.

• Pharmatech Industrial – Manufacturer of pneumatic injections used by the Company. Pharmatech was destroyed by Ted Sprague.

• Yamagato Industries – Also knoen as Yamagato Software and also home of the Yamagato Fellowship, Yamagato industries was led by Kaito Nakamura. A repository of ancient heroes is stored at the company, now run by Kimiko Nakamura.
