The CW Network is an American broadcast television network co-owned by CBS and Warner Bros.. It was formed when CBS canceled its UPN network and Warner Bros. canceled its The WB network in 2006.

The two combined resources and re-launched the new network on September 18, 2006. The "C" in CW stands for CBS; the "W" stands for Warner Bros. The network is a joint venture of the CBS Corporation and Time Warner.

Science fiction programming on the network as of 2006 consisted of Smallville and Supernatural.
