The Butterfly Effect 2 is the 2006 sequel to the 2004 time travel thriller The Butterfly Effect. The film employed an all new cast, writers and directors. The film opened in Fall 2006, to international audiences and was released on DVD in the United States on October 10, 2006.

Like the previous film, it deals with the dire consequences of one man's ability and desire to change the past to undo the death of the woman he loves.
