The Aurora

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

The Aurora.
The Aurora.

The Aurora, in the TV series, The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, is the extraordinary flying ship won by Phileas Fogg in a game of blackjack in Monte Carlo. Like the inside one of those gentlemen's clubs in London's Pall Mall, The Aurora's interior is all deep armchairs and leather-bound books and brass fittings — except that it can fly. And it's jam-packed with hidden devices that only Victorian steampunk could create.

The Aurora is like Star Trek's starship Enterprise in that it is the means by which the heores of the story get to their various adventures. It is a lighter-than-air gas-powered monster that introduced Jules Verne to the world of wonders he'd later transform into his great novels.
