The Andromeda Strain is a 2008 television miniseries based on the Michael Crichton novel of the same name. The novel was previously adapted for the big screen in the 1971 movie. The miniseries is written by Robert Schenkkan and produced by Scott Free Productions and Traveler's Rest Films for A&E. Executive producers of the series include Ridley Scott and Tony Scott.

Benjamin Bratt stars Dr. Jeremy Stone a member of a scientific team called into analyze a mysterious alien organism brought to earth by a returning satellite. When a town is completely wiped out but for an old man and a baby, the team is assembled and brought to an underground laboratory to find a cure for the virus before it spreads across the country and the planet.
