The 1985 Annual World’s Best SF, also known as Donald A. Wollheim Presents The 1985 Annual World’s Best SF, was the fourteenth volume in The Annual World's Best SF anthology series from DAW Books. It was edited by Donald A. Wollheim with Arthur W. Saha, with a first printing in June of 1985, and it included what Wollheim considered to be the ten finest short stories and novellas from the year 1984. This volume includes a cover painting by Frank Kelly Freas, and a short introduction by Wollheim in which he discusses a Soviet publication which surveyed science fiction authors, asking them about the “social mission of science fiction.”
