Teri Hatcher (b. December 8, 1964) is an American actress born in Sunnyvale, California to Owen Hatcher, a nuclear physicist and Esther Hatcher, a computer programmer. She came to fame in the role of Lois Lane on the series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She is also well known in the role of Susan Mayer on the hit series Desperate Housewives.
Hatcher studied dance as a child and attended Fremont high school in Sunnyvale before attending De Anza College in Cupertino where she studied math and engineering before leaving to study acting at the American Conservatory Theater. She made her TV debut as a mermaid on the series Love Boat and her feature film in 1989's The Big Picture.
Genre appearances include an appearance on Star Trek: The Next Generation as Chief B. G. Robinson, guest roles on Quantum Leap, and Tales from the Crypt.
