Television network

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

TV Networks come in two forms: broadcast and cable.

Broadcast networks are the syndicates of local TV stations owned and operated by or affiliated with the corporate entities referred to as networks. Each network provides broadcast coverage in as many localities as possible in order to create aggregate viewing audiences as large as possible for their shows. The longest established networks are NBC, CBS and ABC but these veterans have been joined in the last decade or so by other networks including Fox and UPN.

Cable networks are non-broadcast channels that strike deals with local cable television companies and/or satellite TV services to distribute their programming.
