Ted Cassidy (July 31, 1932 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – January 16, 1979) Hulking American actor and prolific cartoon voice who portrayed the butler Lurch, as well as Thing (the hand-in-the-box) on TV’s The Addams Family (1964-66) and various spin-offs.
On the original Star Trek series, he appeared on screen as Ruk, an android, and voiced the Gorn.
He has voiced both Ben Grimm (the Fantastic Four's The Thing), and FF enemy, Galactus, from Marvel Comics.
From the pages of DC Comics, he has played Black Manta and Brainiac.
Even at 6' 9", he must have found playing Godzilla a stretch.
